What is the difference between the Enterprise and Professional editions?

The Enterprise and Professional editions have different functions, and the following functions are only available in the Enterprise edition.

  • Product line development
  • Reusing profiles (reference, customization, and update)
  • Partial loading of model files
  • Conflict resolution by 3-way merge

For details on the functions of each edition, please refer to here.

Product line development

You can centrally manage the design information of multiple products in one project, and develop product variations.

If you want to use this function, please select the Enterprise edition.

Reusing profiles (reference, customization, and update)

You can quickly and easily define the profiles you need at the start of a project by simply combining the profiles you defined for each process or product line, such as requirement definition, design, and testing.
You can also customize design item names to suit the site and follow profile revisions made by your organization with just one click.

If you want to operate profiles across multiple projects, please consider the Enterprise Edition.

Partial loading of model files

Design data can be loaded only to the extent that the designer wants to view and edit, so design can be carried out smoothly even in large-scale projects.

Sample project: If the project file is the same size as BasicSamples.Enterprise (file size 7 MB), the entire project file can be loaded in about 2 seconds. However, if the project file size is about 150 MB (about 20 times the size of the sample project), it will take about 30 seconds (depending on the PC environment) to load a large project.
Generally, when developing a large-scale project in a team, the range that each designer wants to view and edit is often limited to the process that each person is responsible for, so it is not necessary to load the entire project. In such cases, by using the partial model file loading function in the Enterprise edition, you can load only the range that each designer is interested in when opening the project in a few seconds, so you can start designing quickly even with a large project.

Considering the above, if you are dealing with large-scale projects, please consider the Enterprise edition.

Conflict resolution with 3-way merge

When a conflict occurs, you can resolve the conflict by checking the changes on Next Design and performing a 3-way merge.

If you expect to edit the same model during distributed development in multiple teams, please consider the Enterprise edition, which can use this function.
