When to use rich text

By using a rich text field, you can import existing design results, such as Office documents containing figures and tables, or results from other tools.
On the other hand, since the contents are not modeled, there is a tradeoff in that the individual elements contained cannot be subject to traceability management.

For example, if you paste the following state transition diagram as an image into a rich text field,
states such as "following mode" in the diagram and state transitions such as "cruise control mode switch pressed" will not be modeled.

When using a rich text field, it is necessary to determine the granularity of the design information to be traceable.
The following are examples of when to use rich text.

When importing diagrams from external documents
You can import diagrams and tables from customer requirement documents or externally defined specifications as is and centrally manage them as input information for development.

When including illustrations
You can insert illustrations into explanatory text to create illustrations.

When centrally managing as images
Images of the design object's appearance and design can be centrally managed together with design information.

When modeling in stages
In cases where it is difficult to determine a unique expression format at the Next Design implementation stage, or where modeling at the current stage would be cost-effective for the overall design process, you can use rich text to centrally manage information.
