Abnormally high memory usage when using the application. (When using Intel Arc Graphics driver)
Phenomenon
When using a specific version of the Intel Arc Graphics driver, running WPF applications such as Next Design may result in extremely high memory consumption.
This issue is not a bug specific to our application, but has been confirmed to be caused by a specific graphics driver.
Example:
When the start screen is displayed immediately after launching Next Design, memory consumption is normally around 250-300MB, but in environments where the problem occurs, 900MB-1.2GB of memory is consumed. Memory consumption is also affected by the display configuration.
Cause
This phenomenon has been confirmed to be caused by a specific graphics driver (GPU driver). The drivers currently confirmed to cause this phenomenon are listed below.
- Driver: Intel Arc Graphics Driver
- Version: 32.0.101.5542
Note: This issue occurs not only with Next Design but also when using any WPF application.
How to check your graphics driver
-
Open Device Manager.
-
Expand Display adapters.
-
Right-click the GPU device you are using and select Properties.
-
Open the Driver tab.
-
Check the driver name and version.
Solution
