Check and edit traceability in matrix format
Overview
There are two display formats for the trace page, tree format and matrix format, which can be switched at any time according to the application. On the matrix-type trace page, you can add or delete missing trace information while checking traceability by arranging two models vertically and horizontally.
The method of confirming traceability in matrix format is explained below in the following order.
- Switch between tree format and matrix format
- Switch the model to check
- Edit trace information directly in matrix format
Switch between tree format and matrix format
To switch between tree format and matrix format on the trace page, follow these steps:
- Click Traceability > Page > Trace from the ribbon to display the Trace page.
- With the tree-style lanes displayed on the trace page, have two or more lanes side by side.
- In the tree format, display the models you want to display on the vertical and horizontal axes of the matrix format in the first and second lanes.
- Click [Traceability] > [View] > [Matrix] from the ribbon to switch the trace page to matrix format and display icons indicating the direction of derivation relationships between models.
- Click Traceability > View > Tree from the ribbon to return to tree format.
- Models displayed in the third and subsequent lanes in the tree format are ignored.
Switch the model to be checked
To switch between models displayed vertically and horizontally in matrix format, follow the steps below.
- Select from [Trace Set] saved in advance to switch the model to be displayed.
- If the model you want to display has not been saved as a display target, follow the steps below to save the order of the models and then switch the display target.
Traceability check > Saving and switching traceability check targets
By specifying the models to be displayed vertically and horizontally in the matrix format and the relationships to be displayed in the cells, you can display only the information you are interested in.
Operating procedure
- From the menu button on the right of the toolbar, perform the following operations according to the target you want to specify.
- To specify the model to be checked: Click [Filter rows] or [Filter columns].
- To specify the relationship to be checked: Click [Filter relations].
- The corresponding dialogs will be displayed. Refer to the following procedure and operate the dialogs to specify the models and relationships to be displayed.
- When specifying the model to be checked:
[Traceability confirmation > Save and switch traceability confirmation target > Specify the model to be confirmed](./saving-and-switching-traceability-viewpoints#Specify the model to be confirmed)
- When specifying the relation to be checked:
[Traceability check > Saving and switching traceability check targets > Specify trace lines to check](./saving-and-switching-traceability-viewpoints#Specify trace lines to check)
- When specifying the model to be checked:
Edit trace information directly in matrix format
To directly edit the trace information in matrix form, proceed as follows:
- In the matrix format, double-clicking a white cell that corresponds to the vertical and horizontal intersection will add a derived relationship between models and display an icon. (Gray cells cannot be edited because the derived relationships between models are not defined in the metamodel.)
- Double-click the icon representing a derived relationship between models to remove the derived relationship.
